LAHORE Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq has demanded that agrarian and medical exigency must be declared in flood tide affected areas as hundreds of thousands of victims face threat of contagious conditions.

Addressing the representatives of different patron organisations at Mansoorah on Thursday after returning from three- day visit to the flood tide- hit areas of Sindh he demanded the government give free husbandry inputs and free electricity to growers in affected areas, and establish medical camps, especially for women and children.
He called for transparent distribution of government aid during recuperation process, asking the government to form independent panels including members ofnon-government organisations and people of good character at tehsil position.
He expressed concern over reports of irregularities in distribution of aid, demanding an independent inquiry into it. He advised the autocrats against repeating once occurrences of corruption in the affected areas. He said the corruption at massive position was reported during the aid distribution in cataracts of 2010 and earthquake of 2005 but the responsible were noway held responsible. This time, he added, the nation would not allow it.
He said the government’s overall response during the exigency was pathetic and slow. The government still soundednon-serious and autocrats were engaged in fighting over trivial issues, he contended and said cataracts were test case for the civil and parochial governments but their station wasn't satisfactory so far as people were complaining against autocrats.
He said thousands of workers of the JI and al- Khidmat Foundation were engaged in relief conditioning and they would continue work till the completion of recuperation process. He thanked the nation for posing confidence on the JI and its charity, appealing the people to continue cooperation for their sisters and sisters in need.
